Alasdair Gledhill is a next generation recycler who was born in Lanark, Scotland and immigrated to the United States in 1989. He earned US Citizenship in 2012.
Mr. Gledhill has enjoyed two decades in the recycling industry with ELG Haniel Metals Corp. During his tenure he has traded stainless, nickel alloys, titanium and tool steels. Since 2016 he has also helped ELG Carbon Fibre Ltd. pioneer the recycling of carbon fiber scrap materials in North America.
Before joining ELG, Mr. Gledhill worked as a market analyst and salesman for Avesta Sheffield, (now Outokumpu) a leading producer of finished stainless steel products based in Chicago, IL. He also worked with Samuel, Son & Company a leading metals service center company.
Mr. Gledhill holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree with honors in Latin from Colgate University and an M.B.A. with a focus on entrepreneurship from DePaul University in Chicago.
Alasdair is a strong supporter of ISRI and he has served as President of the Pittsburgh Chapter and as the Co-Chair of the Council of Chapter Presidents. He also served for four consecutive years as a Board Director of the Institute. He continues to serve on the Board of the Pittsburgh Chapter of ISRI.
