Christopher J. Bedell is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for The David J. Joseph Company, one of the largest metal recycling and trading companies in the United States. He oversees the legal and government relations functions of the company and its subsidiaries. As a member of its operating committee, Mr. Bedell is involved in setting strategic direction and overseeing the business operations of its 12 trading offices in North America and Asia and its 71 U.S. recycling facilities. He is also a registered professional engineer and manages the Environmental, Safety, and Health Department of the company.
Mr. Bedell is a current board member of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries and serves as Chair of the Government Relations Committee.
Prior to joining The David J. Joseph Company, Mr. Bedell was engaged in private practice in Cincinnati specializing in environmental law and litigation. Earlier in his career, he was an environmental engineer and served on active duty in The United States Army.
Mr. Bedell received his BSE from Duke University and his JD from the University of Cincinnati, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.
