In my current role I lead the transportation strategy and operating framework for North America Metals, ensuring operations excellence, continuous improvement and verifiable cost reductions; optimize truck, rail and barge fleets. Validate ferrous quality standards and effectiveness of marine operations and create improvement as needed; support executive management with expertise, assist with maintenance and growth of marine logistics.
Working history includes concurrently 11‐years as Director of Richmond Steel Recycling, a JV with Nucor Steel located in British Columbia, Canada. 10‐years as President of West Region of NAM including NorCal, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Arizona, with leadership responsibility for the P&L, safety, growth and all aspects of metal recycling business. 10‐years in the NY‐Metro area with roles including General Manager, Operations Manager, Stevedoring Manager and Assistant to the CEO. 10‐years as Marine Surveyor performing various work including cargo inspections, displacement, bunker and hold surveys as well as stevedoring support.
Collectively I have over 35‐years’ experience with negotiating and executing business acquisitions, collective bargaining agreements, service contracts, property leases and managing multi‐million dollar capital projects across organizational boundaries. Working knowledge of profit & loss statements, balance sheet, letters of credit, charter parties, sales contracts, lay‐time statements, port, ship loading and stevedoring activities as well as rail and trucking operations within the global scrap industry.
